Blooms People

People of Bloomington- I started today with an idea and my camera. I couldn't find the confidence within myself to ask to 'take a picture'. I took a deep breath and with my love of people and photography in my mind, I ventured out to the street corner and out of my mouth came my shaking voice. By the end of the evening I was walking the street starting conversations with complete strangers. Laughing along with one another. Sharing a smile. Why was I so nervous? So scared to reach out? I suppose I was scared of rejection, hatred. Yet many people dismissed me, I never once felt anything close to that! I think we are all much more alike one another than we think. So the next time you are out in public, or in a crowd, look around you. Take time to see the wonderful people that surround you. If we can all slow down and see one another, truly see one another, we can begin to understand one another. When we understand one another we begin to treat one another with kindness and care. And that can change the world. So look around. :)
